I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a deadly genetic lung disease that had no treatments. My mom has dedicated her life to advocating for them. And the first thing that out of my mouth was, well, what is life expectancy? It's just been part of my life because I have, for as long as I can remember in the last couple of years, a new, innovative medication changed my life. Now. I can see my future ahead of me, having a family pursuing a career and living my best life laws are being made. That stifle not only innovation, but it stifles access to medication that are needed on a daily basis for people living with a chronic disease. There shouldn't be any barriers just for me to live my life. I wish policymakers in Washington would help us fight our diseases, instead of fighting our ability to access medications and find cures.
