A rec center is a home within a home. When I was growing up, I had rec centers. But as I started teaching, all the rec centers were closed. There was a time in the city where rec centers were not a priority, but this mayor is invested in young people. Brandon guy's opened new public schools and he's opening rec centers across the city. He knows that investing in our kids actually keeps the city safer for the first time in 10 years. We're reducing homicides and murders by 20%. As somebody that's working with youth, the city is moving in the right direction. We can't go backwards. We need to keep Baltimore moving forward.
